Supper! People on the Move on Tour
…”to these stories in a harrowing, captivating dance theater piece. Filled with symbolism and metaphor, it forcefully conveys the emotional power of the psychological and physical perils that can plague an immigrant’s passage.”
–Jim Rutter, The Inquirer, Supper Tells Riveting Stories of Immigration
Supper! People on the Move is an examination of migration. Physical bodies moving between physical places define migration, and the immigrant journey is at the heart of humanity’s ability to survive. From this rich and fertile history, Cardell creates evocative forms of movement— abstract, personal, universal—performed with unrelenting physicality and striking moments of beauty.
Featuring eight dancers of supreme ability and daring physicality, the highly regarded music of Nick Zammuto, special guest artists, and even a communal feast to end the performance, Supper, People on the Move is an exhilarating event. Supper, People on the Move! was premiered in Philadelphia, on 2015 at the Icebox Project Space at Crane Arts.
